1. Order ONLINE!  You will rarely find pricing to beat the major online distributors. For helpful links, see "Best Bargain Sites" on the left hand menu of this page.
2. Buy in bulk if you will use it and it won't expire. When you find a great deal, stock up!
3. Arrange routine vet visits to coincide with your neighbors if your vet will allow you to split the trip charge.
4. Sell items that you no longer use and convert clutter to cash!  Ebay is a great place to move your unused tack. Local tack stores will sometimes have a "resell it" day. If not, you can organize a sale with neighboring barns.
5. Save a shoe that is in fairly good condition after a farrier visit and keep it with your show gear. You may need it for a replacement at a horse show one day.
6. Find a friend to exchange "horse sitting" duties so you don't have to hire a caretaker when you are out of town.
7. Invest in a multi-use tool and keep it in your tack box so you don't have to have several tools around.
8. Cheap waterproof sleeping bags can be turned into a blanket.  Remove the zipper and cut out a semi-circle for the neck.  Stitch around the edge and add binding up the middle of the back.  Use big strips of velcro for across the chest, under the belly, and the legs.  (If you have done this, please send us a photo!)
9. Use manufacturers coupons!  Here are some great printable coupons from Farnam
